Belt Fed AR-15 / M-16

A few months back I saw an advertisement for a group making belt fed uppers for the AR-15/M16. Have never seen anything more on it and cannot find anything on the internet.

Does anyone know who is making this upper? Links to internet, ads, reviews, phone-numbers, etc.? Furthermore, what is the legality of having a belt fed upper for an AR-15? Thanks.

    I found it mentioned on another forum, the first is the reply quote and the URL is the thread (thread is about a Gibbs 45-70 rifle), but at least it gives you a name to work with.

    This rifle is the biggest tease in Internet history (next to the Shrike beltfed AR-15 upper)!

    Last month in one of the issues of ShotGun News someone was offering a beltfed MG42 conversion that used an M-16 lower, was also going to offer some for the semi-auto ... price was around $3800 ... It seems that they already had BTAF approval, and it was concidered a non-gun since you use the receiver/fire control group of the M-16/AR-15 is the controlled part

    I think it was an MG34 w/ an AR15 lower, wasn't it? I think you have the price right though. The ad also said they were building 250 semi-auto MG42s, going for $4200-4600. If it was me I'd rather have the MG42 given the small (somewhat) difference price. Maybe swap out the barrel for a post-war MG42/MG3 barrel in 7.62x51. Now, time to go out and water that money tree I planted last year!!

    GL - When I was posting I couldn't remember for sure, so I looked it up again ... They are calling it the XMG Belt Fed AR/M16 ... we were both right ad says it uses MG34 and MG42 parts ... kinda confusing, so here's the ad ...
