Need a good gunsmith and some help

Hi everyone,
I am looking into buying a Remington 11-87 Upland Special 20 guage. Problem is I require something in the range of a 12-12.5" LOP. So I have two questions:

First: Who would I get to do that and install a mercury recoil relief? I live in VA.

Second: How bad do think that would take the gun out of balance?

There are so few guns with the LOP I require, and frankly I am not too impressed with most of those. I would be open to any suggestions or recommendations. I've looked and Franchi and Benelli, I'd like an alternative.

    I know you have looked at Franchi. I have all the guns you mention. I think you would find Franchi to balance the best,With what you wont to do. Any gunsmith worth is sign,Should be able to meat your needs.

    Have you checked to make sure the short LOP is possible on the 11-87? That gun has an action tube and spring extending into the buttstock quite a ways...

    I have a good friend who is an excellent gunsmith. He does great rifle work, but his love is shotguns. His name is David Reynerson. He is from Louisiana and can be reached at (225)261-4860. I am sure he would be able to answer any question you may have about getting your l.o.p. right and having a well balanced shotgun when you get finished. I know he is a long way from you but sometimes you have to go the extra mile to get what you want like you want it. good luck and hope this helps.

    You might try the Remington 1100LT Youth in 20 ga. This should give you the lop that you need and have the time proven 1100 action. The Franchi AL48 is also offered in a youth model with a walnut stock and excellent quality.

    Have you tried the Browning Gold Ladies Sporting Clays or Micro Hunter? The lop may still be a little long (13.5) and it is offered in 12 Ga.(only for SC) or 20 Ga.
