Iam store hi-cap mags & etc. I have been making my own cosmolene with heavy axle grease mixed with oil, seems to work ok.

The question is: How do you make cosmolene?

Has anyone found anything better for long term storage?

Ever hear of Boeing 246?

Thanks Y'all

    Hey Saxon;

    That Cosmo line slayed me! Funny stuff......exactly what I needed today!

    BTW, I tried a similar line when I was a waiter. A patron asked me if he could see the wine list. I took a bottle from the next table (they had already finished and left)and leaned it over to one side. The guy looked at me like I was an alien!

    Was the Boeing 246, by any chance, a pre WW2 competitor to the DC-3? I may be misremembering my models and could go dig out the book, but that would be cheating.

    BOEING 246 IS A ANTI-CORRSION CHEMICAL USED BY BOEING THAT IS APPLIED TO PARTS FOR OVERSEAS SHIPMENT

    BUT THE AIRPLANE BOING 246, WAS BUILT PRIOR TO THE DC-3 TYPE AIRCRAFT, DONT NEED ANY AIRPLANES TODAY.

    WHAT IS THE REST OF THE WORLD USING TO STORE WEAPONS LONG TERM, SAY LIKE IN THE GARAGE, AS A PROTECTIVE COATING?

    THANKS AGAIN Y'ALL

    There is a product by the boeing corporation which is called T9-Boeshield. It is in a spray can, and forms a water proof barrier on metals. It was developed to be used on hydrolic parts of jets during their extreme temperature changes while in flight and on the ground. It works great.

    A while back Texaco Produced "Compound L" a rust proofing grease. We used to thin it out with denatured alcohol and spray it into the interior panels of Porsches and other rust prone vehicles..worked like a charm. Due to the lead content I dont know if its available any more..if you can get it its great, just dont get it on your skin, I am pretty sure the L means lead..I have a 1970 MG that I treated with the stuff in 1972, it still has NO rust!
