Iver Johnson gap

1) Anyone know how to eliminate the gap between the forcing cone (of the barrel breech) and the cylinder in the BREAK TOP Iver Johnson revolver? NOTE: the barrel does not un-screw.

2) What's the cause of this anomaly in a gun that shows no erosion of either the forcing cone or the cylinder?

Sloppy tolerances in inexpensive guns of early manufacture, and there
must be some clearance or the cylinder would bind against the barrel
    and not rotate.

I have noticed with mine that the cylinder snugs foward when the trigger is pulled, much like the Nagant gas seal system. Still, the gap won't hurt anything if the gun is otherwise tight and you shoot low power ammo; I shoot several of these old guns regularly.

    Please explain, "FRAME STRETCH".

The gun doesn't bind or seem to malfunction in any way. What's stretched and why? Can it be corrected?
