Was asked to try and find info on this rifle. It's a clip fed 22 long rifle. I could find no model number. Says Savage Sporter on the barrel. When you depress the safety on the right side of the barrel a metal tab comes up on the left side saying "fire". Anyone know the approx age of this and its value in fair condition. Gun has a lot of blueing wear and stock is quite dull but it is functional and has no rust.

YOU HAVE A SAVAGE 'SPORTER', THATS THE MODEL. THESE WERE MGF. FROM 1919 UP TO WW2. NOT WORTH A LOT, JUST A GOOD SHOOTER .22. THEY ALSO MADE THESE IN TARGET RIFLES AND LARGER CALS.(.22 HORNET, .25/20, ,32/20)
