I WAS THE OWENER OF A OUTDOOR RANGE IN CHARLESTON SC 15 YEARS AGO AND SOLD SCRAP BRASS FOR 10 CENTS A POUND! LEAD BROUGHT 14 CENTS A POUND.
THE BRASS HAD TO BE BRIGHT TO BRING 10 CENTS...WE WASHED IT IN A DILUTE OF SULPHURIC ACID AND WATER ...1 TO 5 RATIO.....HOPE THIS HELPS. ALSO PUNCH OUT PRIMERS.

Very enlightening! You would think that were one to go to all that trouble (cleaning and punching primers) it would pay to sort through it and get a nickel a hull as once-fired from reloaders. Of course there is all that non-reuseable .22 brass. I knew a recycler who would sell all that to a local scrap yard, but they got upset with him when he inadvertently included a few unfired rounds!
