Hello, everyone. The Tula m44...I have the chance to buy one and want to know, are these rifles really as rare as I have read? Its going to cost me around $300, but it stamped # matching with bright shiny bore, excellent rifling. Would this be a fair price for a "rare" carbine?

Depends on condition. My price from a wholesaler for a VG is $259 plus shipping. There are some that have sold here recently for below $200. When I bought one 5 years ago, they were $89

There were a LOT of them offered for sale for around that price then.

I don't think I'd categorize it as something "rare." I think there are plenty of them out there, but many of the current owners are still thinking they own a sub-$100 gun. If they learn there are people willing to pay around $300 for it, they'll sell.

With the prices having gone up on them too -- and if the demand seems to be there -- I'm sure there are others that will be "found" and imported.
