Hello, gentleman, I have a 91/30 with a date stamp of 1939r. Does anyone know the meaning of the "r"? Refurbished maybe? Also, any thought on a 1936 Russian 91/30? I have a chance to buy one, but cant find much info on these dated rifles. Thanks

So much could have happened to them, during and after the war. I wouldn't count on this, still being the case.
Unless your collector who wants a 91-30 with a specific date? Each one should be assessed on a individual basis. If your buying it as a shooter, rather than a safe queen.
