Any ideas where I can get a synthetic "drop in stock for these Rem. models. I guess wood would also be ok. I have checked the other side. THX

Years ago I had a H S Precision make a fiberglass stock for my 45-350 Rem Mag. that P.O. Ackley built on a 600. They changed it to a blind box magazine for strength and used an ADL trigger guard. The rifle is 5.25 pounds with sling, ammo and full peeps. It has held up wonderfully to loads the rip the recoil lug threw the factory laminated stock. Exterior was un finished and the interior I micro bedded to the barreled action.

If you can't find a synthetic you are comfortable with you might consider a laminate instead. They are more stable than stocks cut from a single piece of wood and the inletting is nearly complete. Boyd's, Richard's, Stocky's should be good starting places.

MPI of Oregon still lists fiberglass stocks for the model 600.
I have one that I bedded to my 660 back in the mid '90s and can vouch
    for its quality.

    They aint cheap, though.
