How do you tell a "long grip frame" from a "dragoon" frame on a Ruger Super Blackhawk?

I have found that grips from a 5&1/2" Super Blackhawk with fluted cylinder will not fit a Super Blackhawk 7&1/2 " with unfluted cylinder gun.The grips on the 5&1/2" are smaller .Also the 5&1/2" does not have the squared off trigger guard, making this a better feeling gun for small hands.

In 1959 when the Super Blackhawk was introduced There were 2 versions of this style frame. The long version is aprox 3/16"longer than the standard frame. There were 300 to 500 of the long frame produced. These are usually found on guns in the range of 1 to 700, but not always in the range. This low number makes them very desirable to collecters
