AR15 takedown pin

On the forward takedown pin why are some screw type & some pushpin ? Are there two different size's and why ??

    The screw in (two piece) pin, to the best of my knowledge is only used by Colt, everyone wlse uses mil-spec parts.

    My guess is so people wont mix and match Colt uppers and lowers with other brands. Many AR15 owners buy extra uppers in different barrel styles and calibers. A Colt buyer wont have the choice of using brand X uppers. He's stuck with Colt.
