Is the G-11 the one that shoots caseless ammo? If so, I seem to remember CDNN had a few of them several years ago and a little ammo (sold separately & outrageously expensive) to go with them. The ammo was considered unstable and not suitable for long-term storage, but I don't clearly remember why, I think it became inert if not handled with lots of TLC.

It seems as though you are looking for a really, REALLY expensive mantle-piece

TechwolfI think they did but for a very short time, as there weren't any buyers, military was out after just a few tests proved it unsuitable ... of course that killed any civilian interest ...

When the G-11 was tested in auto-fire the chamber would get so hot to where it would prematurely set off the remaining ammo in the gun. Not a very handy feature for the military or anyone.

HK said they took care of the ammo cookoff in the G11-3 prototype. besides the west german gov. was field testing it for deployment when the wall came down. that kinda ruined it for the military to get thier hands on it for a few years. i do know that several european govs have these included in thier arsanal, but what the role is I don't know.
