Going thru some stuff and found a full box of Peters High Velocity, 12 ga paper shells Blue and Yellow and a Duck lifting off a pond with Cattails in the back ground. Shells are Blue with high brass and a yellow dot where pellets come out. on the dot it reads: HV. 1n3/4-1n1/4 (on one line ) over 5. Shoot'em or sell'em. Sell'em what would a FAIR MARKET VALUE be on these shotgun shells. I can send you pictures...today if you want(Palm Sunday) [This message has been edited by michael minarik (edited 03-24-2002).][This message has been edited by michael minarik (edited 03-24-2002).]

Don't shoot them. This is known as the (mallard ) box.If the box is full and in nice condition they definately DO have some collector value.I am NOT an expert and only guessing, but i would estimate 30-40 dollars.Maybe someone with more knowledge on old shotshells will give you a reply.

There are several variations on this theme in the evolution of Peters packaging. If they are *real* old, they *might* go higher. Shotshells are outside of my particular interest although I have some idea of the going rates. Twelve gauge is the most common, of course. Condition is key. Even minor dents, scuffs, etc. can reduce the value, just as a few scratches will in discussing firearms.

That style box was made in a 2-piece box. If that's what you have it's worth $80.00-$100.00. A 1-piece 12 ga. in real nice cond. about $45.00

I can send pictures; The box opens on both ends and the actual number of shells(are Blue in color) is 18 with 6 Older low aluminum base Super X load paper shells. My Uncle died @ 103, had these for years in his basement this box was given to me 3 years ago and along with a full Federal box of shot gun shells and I had never opened either until today![This message has been edited by michael minarik (edited 03-25-2002).]

I got it Yesterday but I could not do anything with it since my Migrain headaches kept me down most of the day and my new medicine Zolmitriptan/Zomig 2.5mg(you can look it up) seemed to make me tired. I will photo it and send it out in a mass mailing early this coming week as you know I deleted the posting cause I figured I had enuff request. Sorry for the delay...Mike

Too bad about the mixed shells, but alum heads in a Western headstamp are not a bad thing to find - if the right loading, they can bring $20 each. I'll be away the next 2 weeks, but if you want to send pix / scans to me (tcg25@hotmail.com) I'll try to help you w/ the value on my return.
