For the last time, I want to buy this Yugo sks(http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Yugoslavian_Model_59_66_7_62x39_SKS_Rifle.html), i asked my local dealer and he said that was afuwl cheap in price. Are these guns cheap or am i getting jipped off or what? I just dont want the gun to blow up or not work. Thankyou.

As you know i have a yugo sks, i see all the movies on the net' and they all shoot them with there bayanets extended in the "stabbing mode". Or can you shoot them with the bayonet in the folded position?

Any help would be appreciated here. My dad just bought a Yugoslovian SKS, and is looking to get a detachable magazine for it. He has tried several, and none fit right. I went to the local gunsmith, and he said it's next to impossible to find one that fits it. Anybody ever hear of this, or have any solutions?

Gentlemen: Have two Yugo SKS's that I cannot get to cycle - fires one round and will cock and feed another round - but will not fire - have replaced the gas tube and piston - any advice is welcome.

I am looking at acquiring an SKS and there seemes to be a fair number of the Yugoslavian SKS w/grenade launchers available and at reasonable prices. Anybody have any positive/negative feedback on this particular model (59/66?) befor I give up my hard earned cash?

    Thanks,

I see that SOG is selling these for $179 VG condition and Interordnance is going for $249. Local gun shop is advertising $199.Any opinions on how these compare to the Russions? I'm assuming there better than the Romainians from previous posts. Need feedback from anyone whose had hands on experiance. Thanks!

I bought a Yugo SKS with the grenade launcher.Since I don't plan on launching any grenades,I was trying to see if the launcher and sights could come off without destroying them or the rifle.I drove the small retaining pins out and tapped on them, but they didnt move.Should I tap harder or are they threaded? Thanks.

I was wondering if it is legal to install a Choate Dragunov stock on my yugo SKS? I know the BATF has all kinds of screwy laws on what is and isn't an asault rifle. I don't wanna unintentional break the law.

    Thanks guyz

A LOCAL SHOP HAS A COUPLE OF THESE ON HAND FOR $200.00 , THEY HAVE BAYO'S ATTACHED AND DONT LOOK TO BE IN TOO AWFUL SHAPE. I'VE NEVER OWNED ONE AND WAS WONDERING IF THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE? AND ARE THEY REASONABLY ACCURATE? ARE THEY PRONE TO MALFUNCTION? INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED! THANKS!

How diffucult is it to change out the stock magazine to a detachable mag. on Yugo SKS ? and is there a preference on the manufacture of the mag to use?

    Thanks

having feeding problems seems like its ok for 2 or 3 shots on a full mag but then doesnt feed the other rounds. it has the regular fixed mag. thanks

Ive been looking into buying an sks for quite a while now and lately ive seen lots of these yugoslavian sks's. I know theyre cheaper but is the quality worse or is theyre something that keeps them from being as good as maybe a russian? I guess what im asking is would it be worth the money to buy one or would it be worth it just to go ahead and spend more money or another kind?

Well i finally broke down and bought another SKS. Had a Chinese SKS that was bought for me right when the SKS was getting tons of imports. think it was 1992 or 1993, I was only 11 or 12. well i got rid of it a few years back. checked out some GB auctions and found some Yugo SKS's for $89.97 BIN. So i figure, i will burn up $110 on beer and gas, so why not just pick one up. the point is, the yugo seems to have some options that my chinese didn't have. like the gas cutoff, grenade launcher and site, and a blade bayonet(the chinese had a spike). never really shot the chinese one a whole lot. how much better is the accuracy with the gas totally shut off? the first day i have this gun i plan on shooting 500+ rounds with it. i did that with my mini-14 trying to melt the barrel, but it didn't work. seems the only thing it did was make it shoot better than most people's who talk about them. will this rifle handle it? or is it just a bad idea? not planning on hunting with it, so what would be the best place to find 1000+ rounds for the cheapest. corrosive is not a problem. the yugo seems to be highly regarded by most of the people on here and that definitely affected my decision. any other tips or experiences are appreciated. thanks

I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I know this is a common subject, but....
I just ordered a used Yugoslavian SKS and am wandering what I need to do before I go out and shoot this thing. I would assume break it down and clean the hell out of it. Also, are pretty much all sks parts interchangeable with these YUGO's??? Any other information you can provide a first time sks owner would be great.

    Thanks alot,
    Brandon

It is the button that holds down the grenade launcher sight.
