Walther PPKS...should I ?

A good friend called me today to ask if I wanted to buy fairly recently produced Walther (USA) PPKS .380 before he puts it up for sale. He wants a 45 again after seeing the one I bought a couple weeks ago. The Walther is a stainless model that's never been fired, but he's the second owner so I don't know that for sure. He has carried it in the holster for a couple of years, but rarely takes it out. He wants $400 and is including a pocket holster and a couple boxes of ammo. I have no experience with Walthers whatsoever, but it seems like a decent offer. What do you think? Should I?

That seems to be too close to what you could buy a new one for. I think that new, they are around $439. I was never a fan of the Walther american made 380 pistols. They are unreliable, and have a lot of sharp edges making them not alot of fun to shoot. I find the Sig P-232 a much more ergonomic and reliable pistol.

Ditto on the choice of the Sig P-232. A fine handgun for deep concealed carry. The Walther is also a fine weapon, but $400 for a 3rd hand one is just a little steep. I have owned 2 US-made PPK/s pistols, the rear sight on the first worked its way loose, and the 2nd the hammer side of the firing pin broke the tip off. Then I bought the SIG and I've never looked back....

Thanks. I think I'm going to pass on his offer on the Walther, as per your much appreciated advice. He also offered me a S&W 629 in 44-Mag. I was already going to buy that and at $350, I don't think I can go wrong. Thanks again.
