I have a rifle that I know very little about. Other than it has Stevens-Pope stamped on the barrel. Can anyone help me in assessing the value of this or point me in the direction of someone who can?Pictures are posted at the following address. http://www.neoglo.com/stevens/StevensPope.htm Any help would be appreciated, I am running out of books and can't find answers on the web. Thanks in advance.

Stevens made several models of Schuetzen typerifles. The one you have described sounds like the Ideal Single Shot Rifle manufactured between 1896 and 1933. It used the Pope barrel after 1901 when Harry Popejoined the company. The Standard Catalog ofFirearms indicates that authentic rifles in good to excellent condition marked "Stevens-Pope" are worth a 50% premium. Your gun could run from several hundred to severalthousand depending on condition. You have a very desirable gun.

You have a very fine firearm.I saw one like yours on another Auction. The asking price was 35000.00 dollars. Your is more complete, plus, the other one was acid etched. where yours is tooled.I printed pictures of the other one, but gave them to friend that likes these type arms. VERY NICE!!!!
