Just bought 5 raffle tickets ($100) for a drawing for a Beretta 686 White Cloud. Says retail is $1925.00. Don't have a lot of hope (never have any luck with this sort of thing, but thought I'd try. Is the advertised retail price reasonably accurate?

Just bought my first Beretta hand gun. What the heck is that blue plastic circle thing for? It came in the case.

what does the type mean with the Beretta Px4 Storm series handguns? I see type C, type F, type G and don't know what the differences are... which is best, etc?

I have a Beretta 12 gauge semiauto marked model AM3 and I am looking for information on this gun, including a rough idea of it's present value.
    Thanks Dale

I know I always ask alot of question but I just want to buy a good gun. Okay, Ive heard alot of things about how reliable beretta 96s are. Ive heard they jam so easy that its not even funny, and that they hardly ever jam. So is it true that they jam very easy, or are they like Glocks and can go through mud, sand, be frozen and still shoot? Or somewhere in between? And should a beretta vertec be as reliable as a beretta 96? Sorry for so many questions.

I have seen a Beretta 62-M Rifle. Is this rifle currently manufactured? Can someone tell me it's accuracy, reliability, and re-sale potential. It looks very much like a bigger version of a Ruger Mini. Is it in that same "class?" I always thought Beretta manufactured top quality arms. It's fairly expensive and I can't find any info. on it, and know less about it than I can find. Any help here by a previous or current owner would be appreciated. Is this like hierloom material or shoot it and throw it away material?

    Thank You

    Dave

You can't go wrong with a Beretta 92/96. Vertecs are the same w/ a new profile. I've only seen problems with reliability when they are not held correctly. If you want to throw it in the sand then stick with a Glock.

Gene, Beretta's 92/96 platform is not in any sense prone to jamming, rather more sensitive to the elements. I couldnt explain to you as to why but thats just the way they are. I have owned a 92FS for five years and have put numerous rounds through it on an indoor shooting range without a single hitch... untill I moved to NV and started shooting on an outdoor range where its windy and dusty. Here, I realized what everyone has told me previously. If you are prospecting something out of the reliability scale, try looking at the HK USP line of pistols. -smooth

I can't recall ever hearing anyone say their Beretta jammed all the time. I've put 7500+ through my 92 and I don't recall even a single jam. Beretta 92/96 is about as reliable a semi auto as your going to find.

There are reports of breakage among the INS Beretta 96's. I suspect that is a result of a 9mm platform being "re-engineered" for the 40S&W. The most common is the breakage of the extractor. The 92 series in 9mm has a pretty flawless reputation for reliability. If you've gotta have a 40S&W, consider an HK, SIG or Glock. Just my .02...

I own a Beretta 92 and Glock model 36. I'm not a gun expert by any means, but my laymans opinion is that they are both fine firearms. They look, feel and function differently, but you pretty much can't go wrong with either one. My suggestion is to find a way to shoot both of them to see which one feels better to you, etc., before making a purchase. I don't think there is any signficiant quality difference between the two.

I'm gonna get a lot of heat for this, but I'm just not bowled over by Beretta. I rented a 96 recently because I was planning on purchasing one. It had no function problems at all. However, I found it to be heavy (although it was a stainless), bulky and not terrible accurate. I would suggest to anyone, shoot one first. If price is not a major concern, look hard at Sig. Great guns, though a bit pricey. I'm about to buy another one, though.-Marcus
