Llama quality

I was looking at a couple of the Llama handguns the other day. The price was more than right, but I am concerned with how well made they are. Does anybody know of any major problems with them?

I have 2 of their 45 acp pistols, and I have not had any problems with them. The only problem I see with them is the fact that colt style parts will not fit them. They feed and shoot without problems. I think they are a good buy for what they cost. I don't shoot them as much as my other guns, so I don't know about long term durability.

ANAD stay away from them they are junk. We have sold a few here in the shop and they come back all the time with one problem after another. They are especially finicky with certain ammo.

Had a 1911 style, LLama 380 that looked good inside and out. It was inaccurate and the grip angle was too vertical if you're used to the 1911.It was much thinner than today's autos so from a concealability perspective it was superior.

Avoid Llama pistols and revolvers. I worked at a shop and every Llama we sold came back for repair. Their warranty and repair service is awful, very very slow. We stopped carrying the Llama line as there were just too many problems. In guns, like almost everything else, you get what you pay for!

I haven't read what the other guys have to say, so if I'm off track please forgive me. I have had a little experience with the Llama brand of handguns both inside and out. I recently fired one who the owner claims had nothing but colt govt. internals using factory magazines and ball ammo, firing almost 3 boxes of winchester 230gr I had not one malfunction. They show tool marks internally that would otherwise not be there with a more expensive gun. Things could be fitted better or have tighter tolerances. Sometimes the extractor may need a little tuning. But overall its a sturdy well built gun. Usually after about another $50 of work it will shoot well.If the price is right, and you want one, you should get one. A piece of advise would be to stick with factory magazines and ball ammo, if anything malfunctions on it take it to a reputable gunsmith. If that gunsmith tells you that its junk and you shoulda got this or that and you'll have to replace this and that, and do this and that, then don't use him, take it to a different gunsmith. Most malfunctions are caused by minor things that can be fixed cheaply.
