70 grain in a 220 swift?

i have some 70 grain 224 cal bullets, i would like to shoot them out of my 220 swift..if i seat the bullet so that it meets the maximun overall length requirements, the bullet is seated deeply...will this overpressure the round? or can i do this somehow safely without a modification to the rifle

    you will have to reduce the powder by 10 to 15 %, but what you will find is that beyond 200- 250 yds your groups will open up, the twist in the barrel is not fast enough for this bullet weight.

    Adding to the comments above, if the twist is not fast enough the bullets will keyhole. This means the bullets start to tumble end over end. Not good. If you see this don't waste time loading any more of them. RG

    Dont load more than a few for the above reasons. You need a twist of at least 1 turn in 9"; better 1 in 8".
