Any personal recommendations for a decent spotting scope? Price range around $250.00 and for target shooting only between 100 - 300 yards. Thanks.

$250 is going to limit your selection to the low end as far as quality.....$400-$600 is about mid-range......$1000+ is top of the line.

If your are looking for just a general viewing glass then the above ones that are mention will be ok. If you want one that you can see small cal. holes (such as 22 cal.) in the target to 300 yrds than you will have to get into the $600 range.

Take a look at the Winchester spoting scope, Find a store that has 3 or 4 of them and buy the one that is the clearest, scopes are not the same in the same brand's some have better glass.

If you wear glasses, try them first. I found many are hard to use because of the eyepiece.
