S&W Mod 15 Nickel Snub

I just saved a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece from a pawn shop this weekend. We all have to do our part you know. This one is a 15-3 2 incher in Nickel, ser # 3K122XX.
Did the 15 come nickel from the factory? (Ejector star, hammer and trigger are not nickel.)

What is the approx age of the gun?

Also, the right half of the rear sight blade (blade only, not elevator or windage) is broken. I think I found a replacement at brownells; Part No. 940-191-440, sight blade kit, rear, .146" Is that the right sight blade?
Any special tricks to remove and replace?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. No, I did not pay $450 for it; I paid $175. It needs some TLC (Flitz) and a rear sight blade. I have a soft spot (In my safe, range bag, truck, etc) for S&W 6 shooter snubbies.
