I am being given a very small collection from a friend in the Orlando area. There are probably 8 - 10 items both pistols and rifles. I will be driving down from IN (I do have a IN carry permit for whatever that's worth out of state). What do I need to do to keep from getting busted for being a gun runner! I hate to have them all go through my local dealer. With shipping and his modest fee, I am still talking over $300.

As I am sure that you are aware, what you have planned is a violation of federal law. Sure, you can seal them in a box and put them in your trunk, and probably get home without anyone being the wiser. But, suppose the unexpected happens: a deer runs into your car, a drunk driver rear ends you, or the police stop you for speeding. One thing leads to another, the police find grounds for searching your car, and you end up in handcuffs. The state police will turn you over to the feds, who will do their best to see that you do 5 years in federal prison. Of course, your lawyer will do his best to get you off, but his $10,000 retainer will be nonrefundable.
Hmmm, maybe you'll sleep better if you just pay the $300.

Just have your FL friend name you in his will, and you can pick up the guns when he dies.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.
