What is the best way to mount a bipod on my super 14 contender? Thanks.

Instead of mounting the fore-end with the supplied screw, get a swivel stud with machine thread(it should match the size of the original screw) You may have to adjust the lenght of the stud's shank by cutting some off in order for it to work properly. I did this on my Contender and it works great!

Harris also makes a nice little clamp thingy that fits all Contender barrels, snug up against the back of the front sight. You can get 'em thru Brownell's, Midway, etc. for about $20 or you might find 'em at your local gun & hunting tools store. Not as inexpensive as the forend swivel noted above though but, if you want to shoot without a 'pod, there's no metal between your hand & the grip.

I did the bit with the stud too, it's easy, and the pod comes right off if you want.

Thanks for the info. I read somewhere not to mount a bipod directly on the barrel,is that correct? I like the idea of the forearm screw swivel idea better. Thanks.
