Meacham Sharps

I'm rather new to the Sharps world and would like a little info on Meacham sharps. After looking at several pictures it appears that the one thing they have in common is the milled or cut down type lockplate. Did they actually use new locks or were they just reworked conversion locks? Any info helpful.

    Sharps rifle research:
    Dr. Richard Labowskie,
    4613 Osage Ave.
    Phil.Pa.19143
His fee used to be $75.00 for a complete research of Your Sharps rifle. Sellers book on Sharps rifles also has information on the Meacham conversion rifles.
