Riflescope for an AR-7

I just purchased my first rifle. A Henry AR-7 .22 cal. because I wanted something small and portable. It has a 1/2" rail on the top for mounting a scope. I've shot rifles plenty of times before (former Army officer), but never with a scope, so I'm looking for recommendations. I'm primarily interested in just target shooting and plinking the occasional can, so I am not looking to spend very much ($30-$50 or less). I've been looking at the Tasco and BSA Red Dot scopes, but they seem to either fit a 3/8" rail or a 7/8" rail. Is there a way to fit these to a 1/2" rail and/or should I consider a different scope entirely? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
