Glenfield 12GA model 50 barrel length + choke

A friend left me his Glenfield (marlin) model 50 12GA bolt action shotgun. The barrel seems a bit short and there's no choke. It's not a slug gun, not rifled anyway. Anybody know the original barrel length it should have? It shoots fine, but I wonder if the fool cut it short. Thanks!

My book says the model 50 should have a 28" barrel with modified choke. I'd guess your gun has been sawed off. You might remove the action from the stock and see if the choke is marked on the bottom of the barrel.
