Have heard over the board a number of times that Rem 7400 mags from the factory are much less than perfect. I have also heard that other companies produce the steel mags for the gun and are far better. What companies are these and where can I find these mags. Oh yeah 30-06. Thanks!!!

I have never had any trouble with my magazine.I did order a spare from Remington, just in case,I keep spare mags on hand. But if any after market mag companies make them it would be Pro Mag or USA mag corp.Is yours failing to feed or what,I have the same gun in 30-06?

I'm probably absolutely wrong, but worth investigating. A friend of mine has a 760 pump rifle, I believe they use the same magazines, but i could be way mistaken. We'll he has what looks to be a 20rd Brownging BAR magazine that he uses in the gun. Its an all metal, 20rd box magazine, looks to have a blue finish, don't remember any of the markings it had on it. But it was a 20rd magazines, and very similar in appearance to the WWII Browning BAR magazines.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Magazines for the pump rifles are not the same as for the semi-auto rifles. However, the pump mags will work in the semi-auto just fine. My personal preference is for the pump mags in both. the pump magazine doesn't hold the bolt open after the last shot is fired with the semi-auto.
