Sig Pro

A friend of mine is selling his Sig Pro P2340 for $425 with 3 10rd mags, and extra grip, case, instructions, and all that. It is cosmetically perfect, has had some 2,000 or so rounds put through it as it is a cop gun. The barrel looks good though. Does this sound like a decent deal? I'm thinking about going for it if he throws in one of his holsters for it. I REALLY wanted a P226, which he told me this was, then remembered otherwise. Any suggestions? What do you think of the Sig Pro? Should I just hold out for a P226? (This will just be a recreational gun, no CCW or business carry)

I've had the Sig Pro in 9mm for a few weeks now,and it is one nice shooting gun.Only complaint I had was the action, very stiff at first but now it's loosening up nicely after putting some rounds thru it. Try it first and see if you like it, don't think you'll be dissapointed. It works for me.

Mine compares favorably with my HK UPS. Different weapons, same caliber. Both have a distinct "personality" but are equally as accurate and (for me, atleast - recreational shooting only) reliable. I bought the factory drop-in .357SIG barrel for my 2340 after about six months shooting it in the original 40S&W, mostly because I'd heard great things about that caliber & didn't want to buy another entire weapon. Switches out in about 90 seconds. Price seems reasonable for the condition you say it's in; if possible, shoot it though before you commit yourself. It has a distinctively deep grip that some folks like, others hate.

You cant go wrong with the sig.... name says it all.... very good price on that gun.... by the way... due too composite materials.. Sigs dont wear much, so dont expect too find much wrong.

I'd suggest shooting one first if you can. The price sounds really good, though. I was gonna get a 2340 and decided against it after shooting one. Recoil was a bit too sharp for my tastes. Also just don't like the feel of a big gun in polymer. Planning on getting a 229 real soon, though.

He threw in the Fobus holster and a box of wonderful Wolf ammo, so I bought it tonight. Hope to take it out tomorrow or Thurs. Couldn't really try it out before I bought it, but he would take it back if I don't like it for some odd reason.

Took the P2340 out shooting today! What a rush. My friend and I were skeet shooting and some pistol guys rolled up on the range while we were taking a break, so I shot with them. They had a 1911 style .45. Where can I get the cheap import ammo to feed this beast now? I really don't want to pay $13 for hollowpoints that are only going to go through paper, and even UMC full metal jacket is $11 at Wal-Mart.
