my question is concerning the use of an aimpoint or any other red dot sight when mounted on an ar-15 carry handle mount. When it is mounted is it to high to be comfortable or usable? it looks like it in some photos ive seen, but i am considering it for my a2 rifle becuase i love the aimnpoints. does anyone use one on there carry handle or have used one? any input is appreciated. thanks

I personally prefer the scout setup where the scope is forward and level to the carrying handle. Purpose being, sight the dot right on
your front sight, when you look thru the peep, it provides very fast target aquisation.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Ditto. I agree 150% with Lee. I just bought a C-More Scout sight like Lee mentioned and I can tell you that it is the best thing since peanut butter. You keep both eyes open and the dot just lines up perfectly with the iron sights. Super fast on target and super lightweight. As an added bonus, it is tucked down low on the top of the handguards, where it is relatively protected. Can't say that for any sight mounted on the top of the carry handle....

I put a BSA 42mm on my AR with a telescoping stock. I found it kind of hard to keep my cheek on the stock and get a good sight picture. The dot would bounce around quite a bit making a follow up shot kind of hard if I tried to shoot without resting on the stock. With a little bit of practice though I got in the habit of resting lower on my jaw bone and then it wasn't so bad.

I had to add a cheek rest to my bushmaster with the red dot added to the carry handle. It is awsome, extremely fast target aquisition. Helps also in low light situations. Leupold Gilmore is a good one as well.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

Does it not get in the way when its mounted on the carry handle? Just looking at mine, looks like it would be more convenient for me any how under and behind the muzzle Break.
