If there is a place in this cyberuniverse where someone might know something about this topic, it has to be here.

Slings as in David and Goliath. Always been intrigued. One of the oldest weapons in the world, etc. Any tips on where to find info, particularly on techniques for use. Tried www but got a meager response. Help much appreciated.

The Bible is the best place to learn about it.As far as becoming good with it.It would take lots of practice.I sam 17:49 is the scripture of how David smote Goliath.

Hope that can be of some help!!

All you have to do is grab any Arab kid on the West bank and he can show you how to use the sling. If you will watch the news when all the kids are throwing rocks at the Israeli's, there will be several using a sling. Tom

Grab an old pair of boots with a long tongue.Cut it out,tie leather boot lace to each end of tongue.Tie one of the lace end to your wrist the other goes between your index finger and thumb.Load the sling with a small pebble.Make one giant ark with the sling, just before you reach straight away center, release the loose end and if you are on target the pebble will impact your target. The reason I suggested a pebble as it is difficult to get the timing down.I hit myself more than anything else at first. With MUCH practice I can manage fair success. You will know when it is safe to move up to a stone.Don't push it..

There is a guy named Larry Dean Olsen who wrote a book titled "Outdoor Survival Skills". I can't find my copy but I believe it is covered in there. Interesting book if you can find it. He teaches a survival course where he takes you for a walk in the Utah desert for a week with empty pockets. You learn to live like a cave man.

    Here's another guy to try.

This site covers sling shots not slings, but if you shot him an email, I bet you get a response.
