I know that Leupold scopes have the option of changing the reticle with their custom shop. Has anyone ever done this and does it affect the performance of the scope at all??? Thanks.

The folks at Leupold have a reputation for doing outstanding work on repairs. Their lifetime warranty is the best in the business. I am sure that any work that they do will be top notch.

What you want to do will require a lot of work by a skilled technician; the scope must be taken apart and reassembled, and then sealed and tested. Such work will not be cheap.

Yes, most folks have a preference as to the reticle they like. However, I can't imagine a Leupold reticle that I dislike so much that I would spend a lot of money to change it.

If you go to Leupold's website they tell all about having reticles changed. It really isn't that expensive and I can definately see why someone might want to change reticles. I had a duplex changed to a mil-dot and it works great. I have no complaints or problems with it. I think it cost around $100. A lot cheaper than buying a new scope with the reticle I wanted.

Just to let you a know a definite price it would cost $46 and $7 for shipping. Which I feel isn't that expensive at all compared to the cost of the scope. I was just worried about the complete disassembly. I will probably just try mine for this year and think about it this year. Just wondering some opinions from you though.

I wouldn't worry about them taking the scope apart to change the reticles. Leupold has a fine reputation for doing a class act job on repairing and customizing their products.

I sent an older 2.5-8x scope in to them to have it upgraded to the new multi-coating lenses a few years back. The scope came back to me like it was new in the box. Never had a problem with it. Total cost. $32.00

I sent in a 8.5x25 3 years ago and it was $75 to have the reticle changed to a standard. With shipping here from Washington state the total was $81.

I sent a Leupold 3X9 back a few years ago to have the reticle changed for my brother. I don't remember for sure, but I think it was $35.00 plus shipping. The scope came back good as new, and he has had no problems with it.

Don't send flowers when I die. Send money now, I can buy more ammo.

Go ahead and do it. Leupold has an excellent reputation. Throughout the years, I have paid Leupold to change reticles, and other custom work such as adding target knobs. Always super quality work with no problems.
