I have a model 73 winchester in the 400,000 serial # range. The serial number is followed by a letter B. I was wondering if this has any special significance. It's a button magazine round barrel rifle in 32/20. I know from George Madis' book it dates from 1891. What does the letter B stand for?

    Bama55;
    Thanks for the info, I was hoping it was an indicator that some modifications were done at the factory. They were probably done a long time ago by a very good gunsmith.
