I have an old 1903 turkish mauser I have been meaning to restore it but it seams I am missing a tool necessary for taking it down. on the side there is what looks like a round nut with two holes in it. I believe I need a special tool in order to take this off and remove the barrel from the stock. Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks

This "pin" would it be in the area of the front of the receiver? I'm guessing here (about your particular model) but my experience in the pass with other military weapons of the period, this a cross bolt. This was used to strengthen the stock area around the from recoil lug on the receiver. It doesn't hold the barrel ...it doesn't hold anything ...just re-enforcement. Good Luck! ...Mark

11echo, is correct...! You should'nt need any tools other than a Screw Driver to take the rest of the Reciever and Barrel out of the Stock...My advise to you is Locate a Friend or a Gunsmith to show You the Correct way to disasemble the Bolt..There's a lot of Pressure against the Firing Pin Spring and if you don't know what you're doing someone could possibly be injured...If you belong to the NRA...They offer for members a detailed schmatic on how to disassemble and re-assemble all the Mauser Rifles.....Best....
