+p and +p+ brass

I have some once fired +p and +p+ brass and I was wondering if you can load it the same as normal brass. Or is there difference between the brass that I should be aware of? Thanks.

+P brass is often a bit thicker and might have slightly reduced powder capacity which is a contradiction of sorts.

Best check is just to weigh a few cases- if the + stuff is heavier it's thicker. I've only checked .45 ACP and .38 Special and haven't found significant differences, so it just goes in the pot with the rest. Most handgun loading densities are low enough that small differences in case capacity are insignificant.

William81-what are you loading that gives a case life of 1 reload? I used to see guys use up .38 Stupid brass in 1 or 2 tries-blown primer pockets- back in the bad old days of 175 major and light bullets, but normal cartridges at normal pressures will go a minimum of 20 reloads with no problems at all, and i have .38 cases that have been loaded 50 times with wadcutters and still show no problems.

I guess somewhere there is a happy medium. An ipsickie friend of mine was still using .45 brass that literally had the headstamps pounded off- i used to beg the other shooters at matches to do him a favor, don't pick up his brass!
I've been scrounging brass for so long that if I had large quantities available i might end up looking like Scrooge McDuck, with cases piled to the roof.
