colt model 2000 & other q's

Today I ran across an ad in my local newpaper for a gun shop's going out of business sale. The first item I'd like to know about is a Colt Model 2000 9mm. It has a matte finish & 2 15-rd. mags, is used, but in 'like new in box' condition. The guy wants $325 for it. Is this a good price for this gun. Is it a good gun? I've never heard of it, though I did do some research on GunBroker and it is butt-ugly. But a friend of mine wants a 9mm and he says he wants me to pick it up for him. He's not super knowledgeable as far as pistols go, so would this be a hassle free option or would he be better off with nice Ruger P89 or P95?

Second item, L1A1 .308 Black Syn. Pistol grip. After turning to GunBroker once again, I see that this is an FAL clone. Is this a good gun or crap? Seller wants $350 in used (no more specific than that)condition.

Third item, SKB XL300 12 ga. 28" bbl. wood stock. No info turned up on this model. What type of shotgun is it O/U, pump, bolt, auto, single shot? Seller wnts $190 in used condition.

Fourth item, Remington 700 BDL .300 Mag. Wood stock/ blue bbl. Once again used at $215. I really have no use for this gun as I don't hunt, but nonetheless it sounded like a deal considering a new one would run $600+

All help here is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Go with the Rmington 700 and the L1A1 especially.I would steer clear of that Colt 2000 I have never seen one good thing about them only they have faied repeatedly.

Also on the L1A1 .308 FAL. Will it accept standars FAL mags? Also this seller is a good ways away, about an hour and a half or better, so This will be a one trip deal and have to be worth the trip.

MR WILLIAMS, THE SKB WAS MADE IN JAPAN. A SEMI-AUTO. VERY NICE GUN. THE 2000 COLT AT THAT PRICE IS A BUY. ALSO THE 700. GOOD LUCK.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    LINKTOSHOOT,

You say in your reply: Depends on the maker, concerning the L1A1. Which makers are good and which should I stay away from? I see see Century Arms come up a lot.

The Colt 2000 is a good example of the failure of Colt management to properly read the market and make good decisions. Someday, the 2000 will be a good collectable, but it does not compete well with more conventional pistols. I do not like the trigger, but it is not a bad gun with which to plink just for fun. It points very well, but I would not carry it for defense. I see people asking from $200 to $600 for them. They are probably $200 to $300 guns, of interest mostly to Colt collectors.
