Has any one tried Corbons new 230gr Power ball ammo? Its designed to give more reliability in the 1911,over hollow point ammo.I seen the Ballistic Report in Guns Magazine. It is some hot ammo I could not believe how well it mushroomed.I went and bought two boxes to do the phone book test today, but its raining.I never doubt ball ammo feeding in my 1911s,but I dont feel as confident with Hollow Points. Was wondering if any one else has tried this ammo?

Thanks in advance.

A buddy of mines father had some not too long ago.The recoil was no different than regular ball.It didnt mushroom as consistently as I had read but it did mushroom.I dont know if you know or not so I will tell you.Not insulting intelligence here. The power ball with the bead in the tip can actually dis lodge the bead in flight and can act like a hollow point with clothing in the tip and remain like a FMJ.But we shot a few into a hog they had trapped to let clean out and dug the bullets out.out of the 4 we fired 2 mushroomed good 1 pretty good and 1 not at all.But with 230 45 even no mushroom is good so even a little mushroom is even better.
