If you get a emailed copy and you want to check it out, just go to ez-check and type in the number and see if it is valid.

Thanks, thought so. Dealer sent me just his number. Told him I needed a copy of the ffl, not just the number, right?

You can enter that # in ez-check see if it is a good # and then ship to the address on the license...

If you are also a licensee then the dealer must send you a copy of his FFL and e-mail is fine. If you do not in fact have an FFL of your own then the dealer is by regulation obligated only to provide you with his FFL number which you can then verify through the E-Check system.

And, as usual, it's best to print out a copy of the EZ-Check response, & keep it in your permanent records.

You will be protected in case you ever get visit from the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits.

Most of us know email copies of an FFL or C&R are legal.

But, I had one seller who insisted on a signed copy of my C&R sent to him before or he would not ship the gun. Not a big deal as I had to send a MO amyway.
