Colt SAA 2nd gen. question

Hello, experts. At what point in the production run ---at about what serial number--did the 2nd. generation SAA transition to the 3rd. generation? In other words, what's the highest serial number for the 2nd. generation SAA before they took on the less desirable 3rd. generation characteristics? I ask because I recently saw a SAA with the serial number ending with SA, which I thought was how you identified a 2nd. generation, but it was described as a "transition" to the 3rd. generation. Hope I made my self clear. Thanks for reading and any help. Jim

Second generation ran from 0001SA to 73000SA
Third generation 80000SA to 99999SA then SA01001 to SA99999 then S02001A to S37000A by Blue Book 28th.
Looks like a 7000 gap between 2nd and 3rd.
