HI- I am a resident of California- and I want to add the XDS to my line of Springfields- but it is not being sold in California- If I understand correctly it is legal to own here-
HOW can I purchase this gun legally?! I have asked several different sources and no one seems to be able to help me-

Thank You

Finally got it! Took it out to the range today....I think I'm in love. Always been a 45 fan. This is one awesome little gun. Does have a little muzzle flip but not bad at all. I have average size hands....if you have big hands not sure how you would like it. Shot 200 rounds of about 6 different loads, some ball, some old military, some hot hollowpoint loads....not one problem. Even mixed ammo in the clips...still perfect. I think Springfield has a real winner here.[:)][:)]

Purchase it here on GunBroker and have your FFL dealer receive it. Easy peasy.

Not quite so easy as it's not on the CA DOJ approved list.

They will probably be difficult to find until SA catches up with the recent recall. As I understand it, all XDs's were recalled, even those in dealer stock.

If you manage to get one, they are great pistols, and you will quickly grow very fond of it. I can hardly wait to get mine back from SA.

If they are illegal in CA, don't tempt fate by trying to purchase one.

One way to buy one IN CA is find someone who lived in another State who owns one and now resides in CA. Then go to your FFL for the transfer. Thats how some folks in CA have ended up with Ruger LCP's. Only bad thing is since neither is on the DOJ approved list you won't be able to put the gun on your carry permit if you happen to live in a county that gives them out. The subcompact version XD is legal in CA..the XD/s may never be put on..just depends on Springfield submitting it for testing and it being CA compliant.
