Huglu Shotguns

Does anyone have any experience with the Huglu shotguns made in Turkey? How are fit and finish? How do they print? Thanks!

    Anyone here got any opinions about these shotguns made in Turkey? From what I have seen thus far they seem to be well made and worth the money. Any thoughts? Thanks much.

    I have been considering purchasing a Huglu side-by-side shotgun. They look nice on their web site, but I am not entirely sure what to expect from firearms made in that corner of the world (Turkey) and Huglus in particular. Any feedback on quality, reliability, and availability of parts/service on these guns would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Guys, Thinking about buying a Huglu U4 sporting shotgun. All I've seen is the website which of course is all praise. Does anybody out there own one? How do you like it. How long have ya been using it? Is it holding up? Parts???? Thanks,Beltfed

    I had a hunting club member trade me a NIB 20 ga Huglu shotgun. Anyone out there had any experience with Huglu ? It looks good and appears to be fairly high quality but I don't know anything about Huglu.

    I ordered one of their single barrel trap guns.They sent me an over/under it had a cracked forearm.The wood was very plain looking.I sent it back and bought a BT-99 no regrets,shot my first 25 with it yesterday.Good luck...Jeff

    I bought a Sarcilmaz made in Turkey, adv in Gun List at $279, 12 ga O/U. Cost about $350 with gunshop 10%, UPS and sales tax. Plain jane with two triggers, no ejectors, etc. Great wood but checkering with over-runs. Fit and finish very good, better than expected for the price. Don't know about Huglu. Hope this helps.

    I purchased a Model S0 16 gauge this past summer. I used it on the clays course and the uplands, and I couldn't be happier with it. The Turkish walnut is quite beautiful, and the fit and finish is certainly acceptable for a firearm in this price range. In fact, I purchased it after tiring of sending back four used side by sides in the $1500.00 to $1900.00 range. I would not hesitate to purchase another, or to recommend them to anyone.

    I handled the transfer of a Huglu Cowboy double barrel for a friend and client. The main spring on one side broke after two shots. It was repaired under warranty, with fairly quick turn-around, and no damaged screws. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the ones I have seen at SHOT Shows, but they were all higher grades. Apparently lower grades are no so carefully made.I have noted a similar siutation with the Baikal shotguns that EAA sells. The ones at the SHOT Show look great, but the ones you get from distributors are not nearly as nice. The metal does not appear as nicely finished, and the wood is light, with knots, etc.. I have only seen a couple come through, so the ones I have seen may have been on the low end of the variable spectrum, and others may generally look better.
