Saxonpig, I took your advice and listed 5 guns on Gunbroker with no pictures.I listed each at a price I would buy them for.Of course, honest conditions for each were stated. Each one sold. Thanks for your advice. Now I need all thoughts on a handgun that I should purchase.I already have the Ruger o/u shotgun that I wanted.I am looking for either a 357 Sig or 40 cal.Do not want a double action only. Prefer one with a safety. What do you guys think? Will be mostly carried concealed. Thanks

The S&W 40's are hard to beat. I like and carry the 4013. It's flat and utterly reliable. Of course there are many to chose from. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with your shopping.

The nice thing here is if you go with a .40 you can always get a 357 sig barrel to go with it and visa versa. I like the Glock 32 and 23 as well as the Sig. My 2 cents.

If you can find one look at the Browning H.P. in 40 cal, they are sweet

I just had to ask. What about the nude bicycle rider that the Forest Service is looking for in regards to the Contreras fire just west of Prescott. My family were the original owners of the Contreras Ranch.

I haven't heard anything about a bike rider as yet.Haven't gotten the local paper yet either. This is Prescott and as usual behind the times as far as news goes.I heard on the Weather Channel this morning that the fire is contained.Didn't even know there was a fire till then. Will let you know if I hear anything further. The Contreras Ranch is one beautiful place.

Back on the original topic... I'd suggets you look at the HK USP Fullsize .40; you can get it in .357 SIG or add either an aftermarket (I got me a BarSto) or factory barrel later should you want to - mags accept & work fine with either caliber.I personally like the polymer .40's; other folks' are certainly entitled to their opinions.

spclark,Did you have to do any modifying to the Barsto bbl or did it work ok?Also, the fire burned 55 acres and is now out. No mention of a bike rider.

The BarSto I purchased is what they sell as a "drop-in fit" & that's exactly what I did; (http://www.barsto.com/) offers a "fitted" style (which requires just that - by a qualified 'smith) but offers up better accuracy.I can't shoot good enough with either the factory .40 S&W barrel or the BarSto .357 SIG barrel to tell the difference between the two: I bought the BarSto to learn more about .357 SIG & how it shoots. On a good day either will put 15 or more rounds into a 1-1/2" hole at 35 feet, using a standing two-hand grip. The other 35 rounds from the box are usually within 3" of the big hole, give or take a flyer or two.

I carry a Glock 23 (w/a 13rnd mag). If you insist on a suicide switc... er, safety- I recommend a S&W. Work that muscle memory until yer thumbing that de-cock lever in yer sleep.Enjoy
