Does anyone out there know how to take apart the slide of a Ruger P89? I know it's not recommended to do, but would still like to know. Anyone?

I have just received my P89 that I bought at auction and I am amazed that the disassembly instructions are so poor. The little booklet that accompanied the pistol is not very explicit. I thought the MKll instructions were poor but these leave a lot to be desired.Maybe it is me as I am a new shooter but it is almost like Tiawanese computer instructions. Is there a source on the web that has better illustrated instructions. I did master my MKll but am hesitant with the P89 as I would like to shoot it soon, ha ha!

seb1999 if I where you I would just take the gun down to a local gun shop that sells them and ask for help or to a local range, you could also go to a good book store like barns and noble and buy a good book that shows disassembly of different guns , maybe check your yellow pages for any gunsmiths in your area I'm sure you could find one that would help and last have you tries calling Ruger and asking for help their service dept number is 603-863-3300 their web is www.ruger-firearms.com hope this helps

Have someone show you. If you follow your instructions real close and dont hurry yu might get it. It really isnt that hard once you see it done.

Thanks for your help and vote of confidence.I read and reread the instructions and managed to take it apart without mashed fingers and was able to get the barrel ou and then reassembled it.I did it right because I put 50 rounds through it at the range afterwards. Thanks again!
