i have a sport king with 6 1/2" barrel. my buddy has a flight-king 4" barrel chambered for .22 short. both are the early lever take-down type. he wants $35.00 for his barrel. My question is would it be practical to buy his barrel and have it rechambered to .22 LR and fit to my frame. or keep looking for a 4" sport king barrel and have it fit to my frame?[?]

I have a high standard target pistol. It is at least 55 years old. I inherited this pistol from my Father and intend to pass it on to my son. the gun is .22 cal w/both barrels. the marking on the gun is Supermatic with lightening bolts on each side. The barrels are tongue and groove. All of the other high standard .22s I could find have a pin type lever barrel release. I cant find any other markings than those I've mentioned. The other HS .22s are Citation's or Trophy's or sportsman's or they're model 101 through 107. My dilema is i'd like to find out what model this is and what the value of it is. I cannot get it insured without a good estimate of its value. xCan anyone help?

On impulse I traded for a 9 shot 2inch barrel high standard revolver. I have to wait the three day period so I dont have the gun in my hands. It looks to be powder coated instead of blued. I have $145.00 in it. Good buy or not enough info?

I don't believe that they are particularly rare, but they're a nice little revolver and I think the folks that bought them tend to hold on to them. I believe that to generally be true of all your higher quality .22 pistols, be they revolver or semi-auto, as we certainly don't see too many used ones around here; either in dealer's shops or gun shows. As for giving you a value--also difficult, as High Standard got a lot of miles out of the name "Sentinel", using it on several different models. The original, manufactured 1955-56 will bring $120 in 100% condition (blue model), the Sentinel Snub $145, the Sentinel 1 $235, The Sentinel Mark IV (.22 Mag.) $275--all blue and 100%.

    Does it have a 2-inch or 2 3/8 barrel?

I've seen a couple around, usually about $125-150 asking price in good shape. They are great little revolvers to tinker with and test your skill as a gunsmith as far as trigger jobs, refinishing, tunning, and sight replacement, a sentinal would be ideal.

bluesteel4r are you interested in selling or trading for this revolver or were you just looking for a price? If so I may have an interested buyer.
