I am looking for somebody that knows about Winchester's. I know that there is a few of you out there. A guy at work asked me to find out about a Winchester model 60. It is a single shot-bolt action rifle that accepts 22 shorts and longs only. The question: What was the production years of this rifle? And if you are real good - the patten dates? (I told him the patten dates should be under the Winchester logo, on the barrel. This is correct in most instances with older Winchesters?)Thanks - Any help is appreciated."Ask not what your country can do for you"

This isn't much, but "60 and 60A models: Not serially numbered.Introduced in 1932, discontinued due to WWII. A total of 165,768 were made." "60A Target Model:Same as above except 6,363 rifles of this model were made". Perhaps another expert can add to this. I know much more detailed info exists in books on Winchester .22s, and there are several good ones in publication. The quotes above are from Madis' "The Winchester Book".
