I have several boxes of old (1940s-50s)Winchester shotgun shells. I also have somevery unique shotgun shells. Can anyone direct me to a source for determining theirvalue? Thanks for any help.

I came up with a bunch of old shells, mostly without boxes. What I did was found an auction with a specific catagory for collector ammo and listed some. The boxes are going for around $20+ and the auction is still going. I had no luck in hunting around for values. I would start the auction at whatever modern shells sell for. It they don't get that much at least you can shoot them. Email me if you wish.dannej@eloft.net

There is "The encyclopedia of shotshell values" for sale in the Gun List. They also have online info but it is on another aution site so will not list it here. Also The Red Book of Sporting Collectables has good info.

Iconoclast here on the board is a great source of information, but is away at gunshows for several days. Try addressing a thread to him late next week. I am sure he can be of help or point you in the right direction.
