Browning Hi-Power Nickel - Rare???

Can any of you Browning experts tell me if there is anything special about a 1980 gun(PM)serial number with fixed sights in nickel finish? It's unfired and comes with a black Browning pouch and the owner's manual. The gun has the gold trigger and wood grips - owner says it's very rare in nickel - would like an idea what it's worth. Thanks

I saw that - posts were 2 minutes apart. I'm not too up on Brownings but was thinking about it because it is nickel. I can't seem to find out very much on the production numbers of the nickel guns.

Nickel was introduced in 1980 and discontinued in 1985. Between 1981-85 there were approximately 11,609 nickel plated High Powers made. All triggers were gold plated, and the grips were checkered walnut. In 1974 FN unexpectedly shipped 100 High Powers in 9mm with nickel finish and Nacrolac grips. This is a real rarity, for they were a one time shipment and will have serial numbers 74C13xxx range. There is no significant price difference in the nickel units compared to blued or chrome.[This message has been edited by Rembrandt (edited 04-04-2002).]

Thanks Rembrandt, I'm into Colts & Smiths and was only considering the Browning if it was rare - it is a pretty gun in nickel but I think I'll pass because it's not really in my area of interest.
