Just watched a wierd western -- "South of Heaven, West of Hell" I think was the title. In the final shootout the good guy "Val" is using a lever-action rifle but it loads through the top. He pushes lever down, pushes big fat round into top (like Winchester ejection port) and closes lever.Didn't get a good look at it.Anybody know what it was?

Haven't seen the movie, but it sounds like a Sharps.

Looked a little like a Sharps but it had a 3/4 legnth magazine under barrel and I think it had a loop lever, not a single piece like the Sharps I know.Might have been a later model I'm not familiar with.If you're a big western/ country music fan it's worth a buck to rent. Don't know if I'd pay full price.

Mag under barrel, then I guess it wasn't Spencer either. IIRC
