This isn't easy guys, but how do I remove the bolt from this rifle? I see the small lever on the right side of the reciever, but it doesn't seem to do anything. No wonder that I usually only ask questions here and not respond to them!

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT 7MM-08 .MY 308 WITH SNIPER STOCK AND BIPOD WITH WEAVER 6X20X40 WILL SHOOT 3INCH GROUPS AT 300 YARDS ALL DAY TELL ME ABOUT THE 7MM-08 WILL IT OUT SHOOT THE 308 ?I KNOW MY SHOTS ARE DROPING AROUND 12-14INCHS

Where I think you'll run into trouble with this scheme is the dissimilar size of the case heads. I believe you will find that the .308 size bolt won't work satisfactorily with the .223 size case head. Too much slop. It won't center over the firing pin hole and won't extract. Also, if it would work, every time you switched barrels you would have to establish proper headspace; and the proper way to do this is to take all the guts out of the bolt and the extractor off and just use the bolt body. You would also require two sets of go/no-go headspace gauges. Far better to buy a second rifle.
