Barrel markings: Police Positive (both words share the P) 38 Special, Pat 1884,1905, & 1926, serial # on frame 3975## with T over the 9, Has the rearing colt on both the frame and on a medalion on the wood grips. The best I could determine that it's a police positive special made in 1930. With so many variations in this model I may be in error on this. I'm sure that some of the experts here can comfirm or correct my assumed date. Thanks.

Not sure about the other markings, but my Colt's Dates Of Manufacture 1837-1978 gives the date of manufacture for a Police Positive Special with a serial in the 383XXX to 400XXX range as 1930. Hope this helps as to the date.
