Is there a site(s) or book(s) where I could find how to tell the date of manufacture for specific guns from the serial #?-Marcus

The Blue Book of gun values has a lot of dates of manufacture for Brownings, Colts, Winchester, and a few for Marlin, Parker, Savage.

Since 1920 Remington put a date code on the barrel. The blue book has the key to the code.

If the above doesn't work and the manufacture is still in business, they will tell you when the gun was made if you send an e-mail or snail mail to them...

The Blue Book of Gun Values doesn't give much info on Colts. It will tell you, for instance, a particular model was made from, say, 1927 to 1945, but doesn't give which year a certain serial number was manufactured. To get this info on Colts, you need one of the R.L. Wilson Books with the dating information, such as "Colt,An American Legend," or "The Book of Colt Firearms." There may be others but these are the two I rely on mostly. Can't help you on dating others as I only deal with Colts.....Hope this helps!
